What more important source of sustenance than water, preferably distilled. Distilled water, contrary to much circulated disinformation distilled water is fairly close to alkaline therefore it is not necessary to look any further than a good quality countertop system. You truly wouldn’t need to re mineralise the water either since we derive our useful minerals from our food not our water.

Distillation is by far the best option for making purified water when it comes to intake, you need to know that your body is taking in the optimum in purity to enable cleansing as well as sustenance. Reverse osmosis systems are chosen by many people, but the quality and benefits do not even come close compared to distilled water, the reasons are a few fold.  Firstly the distillation process gives the water a negative charge, this is such a priceless feature since the negatively charged water draws on positively charged bacteria pathogens and unwanted excesses in the body that could lead to many illnesses including arthritis. This attraction process draws out these unwanted elements from the body and they are passed out with our urine and faeces. Our blood systems are a great defence from most ailments and if you can cleanse your blood through the intake of negatively charged water this should go a long way to prevent or offset the onset of many potential ills, by keeping your blood system uncompromised by germs viruses and so fourth.

Although there are many products on the market including the gravity water filters, UV systems, inline water filters, deionized, coolers, dispensers, filtration and filters, the Megahome water distiller is better than any other distiller or water system we’ve come across, certainly the best all rounder for build quality, reliability, as well as looking like a great feature in the kitchen. The water tastes fresh, soft and very drinkable.

Most people overlook the importance of distilled water and this is most certainly to their peril, especially since we comprise of approximately seventy percent water in our adulthood, it makes sense that if we are breathing in toxins and bacteria from all around us as well as ingesting the same though our foods and further generating toxins from our daily function, we should take measures to optimize our health, and intake a healthy vitalizing water that will assist in drawing out the free radials and such like, otherwise toxins may continue to build up within our bodies.

Bottled water, spring water and mineral water all have their down sides including levels of chemicals, unusable minerals that collect around the body’s joints, causing wear and degradation; these waters can contain high levels of bacteria in many cases too, not to mention the risk of cancers through carcinogenic elements leached through polymers from the plastic water bottle.

Many people I’m sure would like to know the process of making distilled water, so here goes.

Firstly the water gently boils away in a boiling vessel, which has a small outlet at, or near the top of the vessel. The steam rises and exits through this outlet into a cooling condensing coil where it returns it’s form back to water. As the process progresses, only the water escapes through the condensing coil and the heavy elements including metals and chemicals and other undesirables are left behind in the boiling chamber. In the case of the Megahome domestic distiller, the water, once condensed back from steam, drips through a housing where there is a secondary system of activated charcoal filter, (this is in place as a function for removing odours and improving the taste of your water).

Incidentally, Cytodoc also stocks replacement charcoal filters (they are derived from plant coconut shell). Filters are very affordable and it is recommended using one or two of these at a time. You should look to replacing the charcoal filters on a monthly basis.

The distillers are available with a glass water bottle (jug) or a plastic option if cost is an issue to you.

If you are wondering where to buy distilled water, it is available on the internet but we’ve been advised by some buyers that in some cases, it’s not what it says on the label. Some people test the ‘parts per million’  (this measures the total dissolved solids present in the water) and should read between 000 and 001 PPM.  At times the reading was high, indicating that the water was either not distilled, or it may have even been contaminated. The option of buying distilled water can work out very expensive.

Purified water is also available from chemists however, purified water is not distilled water so do not be fooled, again this option is also expensive and this water is often stored in unsafe plastic containers and over time left in storage to accrue bacteria. Purified water goes through a different cleaning process.

Distillers for alcohol and essential oils are also available, just select your requirement buy clicking the optional buttons on the purchase page.

In the view of CytoDoc, if you are looking to maintain good health, or regain your health, the Megahome Water Distiller would be the first product you should consider.

Benefits of the Megahome Water Distiller from Cytodoc?

  • Gives you crystal clear, clean and great tasting water.
  • Saves you money on expensive bottled water and is guaranteed the much purer option.
  • Distilled water has a magnetic property that draws in-organic compounds out of the body.
  • CytoDoc recommends this product as being generally the singular most effective / beneficial product toward good health.
  • Doesn't waste valuable water like reverse osmosis does, and it's more effective!
  • Megahome are the originators of the domestic water distiller, other companies generally base their products on the Megahome design (usually with inferior build quality).
  • Your body composition consists of over 70% water; why put anything less than pure water into it?
  • 2 year waranty on parts and labor.

Have you ever experienced the taste of absolutely pure water?

Tap water contains a mix of pollutants. Even bottled and filtered waters contain many impurities.

The issue is, if you do not filter them out before you drink your water, your body is put under constant load and is required to do it's own filtering.
There is only one guaranteed way to get absolute pure water and that is from steam distillation using a home water distiller. Distilled water is 99.9% pure water.  With a home water distiller you can produce water that is purer than any bottled or tap water, in fact purer than any other type of filtration or purification method. Water Distillation is the optimum method.

How does it compare to bottled water?

You may be very surprised at how many pollutants there are in bottled water, it is also expensive, and as has been reported by the media in the past, it doesn't always represent what the label on the bottle says!

Generally, bottled water is more expensive than petrol. The water distiller running costs, works out at about 9p a litre over a typical year of use.

The picture shows the brown scum that gets left behind after distillation, just try smelling the contents of the distiller after you've distilled water in it, you'll end up with a concentrate of the impurities left behind from your 4 litre distill, I'm sure you'll find the smell just as offensive and concerning as we did.

We ran our water distiller for 7 days processing 4 litres of tap water per day. This is what was left behind.

Photo's of the distiller after 1 weeks use.

This list of impurities (above) is present in most drinking water to a greater or lesser degree. In tests the Megahome 943SBS water distiller removes 99.99% of all these contaminants.
It is very simple to use.

Your water distiller produces 4 litres of absolutely pure water in five to six hours.

All you do is fill it up, switch it on and let it run, it will switch its self off.

It drips the water into a BPA-free polypropylene or glass jug container which is designed to fit easily into a fridge and also fits inside the water distiller for easy transportation. It switches itself off automatically - you do not have to worry about it overheating.
What health professionals think about the benefits of distilled water:

"Even tap water invariably contains a variety of poisons such as chlorine, chloramine, asbestos, pesticides, fluoride, copper, mercury and lead. The best way to remove these is by distilling" - Dr David Kennedy

"The only minerals that the body utilises are the organic minerals. All other types of minerals are foreign substances to the body and must be eliminated. Distilled water is the only water that can be taken into the body without damage to the tissues". - Dr Allen Banik

"The body's need for minerals is largely met through foods, not drinking water." - American Medical Association

"The greatest damage done by inorganic minerals is to the small arteries and other blood vessels of the brain (75% water). Hardening of the arteries and calcification of blood vessels starts on the day you start taking inorganic chemicals and minerals from tap water into your body." - Dr Paul Bragg

Is it BPA free?
Yes, the plastic jug is BPA-free polypropylene. If you are still worried you can always buy the deluxe glass jug option.

Do we need to use the charcoal filters?
The charcoal filters out volatile organic compounds (VOCs), things like pesticides and solvents. Apart from removing these nasty chemicals the charcoal filtration also makes the water taste better. Each filter lasts approximately 1 month, your distiller will arrive with 6 months supply.

Why does the water taste different?
Pure distilled water tastes different to normal tap water, sometimes it takes a little bit of getting used to. Believe me, when you are used to it, tap water suddenly tastes disgusting!

  • Where's the jug? Inside the distiller.
  • How much does distillation cost? In terms of electricity used approx 9p a litre.
  • How long does it take to distill? Usually around 5 hours for 4 litres of water.

Also there is a lot of misinformation around regarding distilled water and the distillation process, be sure to watch the videos available on Cytodoc website.
